Twist Mountain was living up to it's name. Jimmy found himself wandering back and forth endlessly. His partner Pokémon was a Dewott, having evolved from his starting Oshawott, nicknamed Wotta.
"I can't believe this," he was saying to his partner, "I know this place is supposed to be a natural maze but you'd think after being lost for several hours we'd be a bit closer to the end."
"Dewott..." Wotta was looking around forlornly.
"Is anyone there?"
Jimmy and Wotta looked ahead, someone was walking towards them, the voice sounded young and before either could note anything else Jimmy was tackled off his feet by a glomping Bianca.
"Oh my gosh," she squealed, "I'm so lost I thought I was gonna die here!!"
"Calm... down..." Jimmy gasped as her hug cut off all the circulation from the waist up.
"You'll help me get out won't you?" the puppy-dog look she gave made even Wotta feel sympathetic.
"If... you let go..." he gasped, face turning blue, collapsing as she finally caught on. After wheezing his breath back he got to his feet.
"Do you know which way we should go?" she mused.
"Not a clue, I've been relying on pot luck," he admitted.
"Well, in that case let's head this way!" Bianca announced, pulling a reluctant Jimmy along.
Behind them, something was watching from around a corner.

"So have you caught any new Pokémon yet?" asked Jimmy.
"No new ones, but my Tepig evolved," grinned Bianca.
"That's awesome!" replied Jimmy, grinning, "my Klink evolved during the last Gym Battle into a Klang, but it's been slow going since then."
"Tell me about it, training just gets tougher doesn't it?" Bianca looked around, "is it just me or is it getting colder around here?"
"I just had that thought," Jimmy looked surprised, realising he could see his own breath.
"wott..." Wotta shivered as the temperature around them unexpectedly dropped.
Bianca enlargened one of her Pokeballs, "I have an idea, go Pignite!"
Pignite posed dramatically whilst snorting out steam.
"Pignite! Ember!"
Flames lit up the cavern walls as Pignite spat them out, causing the mountain to heat slightly.
Both trainers smiled happily at their seemingly good change of luck when suddenly there was an angry roar from somewhere ahead.
"Er... what was that?" gulped Bianca as Jimmy looked eagerly.
"I'm hoping it's something really cool..." he grinned, "I do need a sixth team member after all..."
Suddenly the roar got much louder, and there was the sound of stomping as something got closer. A large shape loomed out of the darkness, and both Jimmy and Bianca became more nervous as it came within reach of Emboar's light.
"BEEAAAARTIC!" it roared, the polar bear Pokémon stomped towards them, mist spurting from it's nostrils angrily.
"Crap, run!" shouted Bianca.
"No, we're already lost, running would just get us more lost," Jimmy looked to her, "let's catch it."
Bianca's look said it all.
"Just watch, we only have to wear it down after all, lets go Bertha!"
The red Darmanitan beat it's chest and grinned almost maniacally at the Beartic. Beartic hunkered down, clearly ready for a fight.
"Start things off with Fire Punch!" shouted Jimmy, Bertha's fist glowed with the flames of her attack, as she charged towards Beartic. The Ice type seemed to back off at first but then started glowing with it's own attack, charging with a glowing ball of energy around it. The attacks collided, causing a minor explosion that sent both Bertha and Beartic flying back.
"Didn't know it could use Superpower," grinned Jimmy, "we can do it too though. Bertha, show that Beartic a real Superpower!"
With a shout, the spherical baboon charged, her body glowing similarly to Beartic's had earlier, seeing this it responded with another Superpower of it's own.
Again this was a neutral hit, neither side was backing down. Both watched the other warily, Wotta shouted out it's support for Bertha, who responded with a cheeky thumbs up. As she was distracted, she didn't notice Beartic charging for another attack.
"Watch out Bertha!" shouted Jimmy, suddenly panicking, the Darmanitan was frozen with fear as Beartic lumbered towards her, unusually fast, "try and dodge it!"
Bertha seemed to come to her senses and lunged to one side, although the Beartic was faster at reacting, it's claws unsheathing for a Slash attack, striking Bertha down one side of it's flank.
Beartic was between Bertha and Jimmy's group, meaning there was no way for him to get to his injured Pokémon. Bertha seemed to sense this but waited for orders faithfully.
"Bertha, another Fire Punch!" shouted Jimmy.
Beartic wasn't waiting now and lunged again, Bertha leapt to meet, fist alight...
There was a flash as Fire Punch and Slash connected.
Both Bertha and Beartic stood, backs towards each other, neither moved as both waited for the other to drop.
THUD!
Beartic dropped to one knee, causing Jimmy and Bianca to cheer, but without warning, Bertha collapsed!
Beartic got up with a triumphant smirk and roared at them again, Bertha, on the verge of fainting stood slowly, unable to even turn.
"Bertha, don't push yourself," Jimmy was beside her, one arm around the Pokémon's back, "you've battled amazingly, you can take a rest now."
But Bertha wasn't giving up. It turned to the Beartic, panting heavily, still unable to move properly. Beartic simply unsheathed it's claws, not hesitating to take this to the death. It lunged forwards, roaring as it charged. The roar caused bertha to freeze, her eyes wide as it continued to surge forward, unable to move despite Jimmy's commands.
FLASH!
Beartic fell back as... SOMETHING... moved between both it and Bertha. It was definitely a Pokémon, but neither Jimmy or Bianca had seen it before.
"What... is that?" Bianca looked down as her Pokedex pulled up the relative information;
Cryogonal. The Crystallizing Pokémon. It tracks down prey and freezes them solid with it's breath. It's body is made of crystals which it can sharpen to perform attacks. It is an Ice type.

"Cryogonal huh?" Jimmy overheard the vocalised entry, "it looks pretty cool."
Both Cryogonal and Beartic were staring each other down. Cryogonal had moved in front of Bertha, apparently ready to defend it.
Beartic decided it was going to take a chance and charged with a Slash attack. Cyrogonal seemed to glow darkly before unleashing a bizarre, dark ray, streaked with various colours. It hit Beartic square in the face, causing it to stumble and collapse onto the ground. Snarling, it tried to stand only for it to slam into the nearest wall. Cryogonal decided to use this as an opening for an Ice Shard attack, hitting it on the arm this time with small chunks of ice. Roaring and snarling, Beartic obviously decided this wasn't a fight worth continuing and ran off back down the tunnel, slamming into walls and stalagmites as it went.
"Wow," Bianca stared at the Cryogonal who had saved them, "that was amazing."
"Yeah," Jimmy knelt to Cryogonal's height and smiled, "thank you very much for saving Bertha there. I don't know where we'd be if you hadn't shown up."
Cryogonal's face, though frozen in one expression, seemed to glow and it spun on the spot, clearly indicating joy.
"Now, I know you've helped us once already but I don't suppose you know how to get out of here?" he asked.
Cryogonal did it's best to look thoughtful then nodded and turned, rotating as if to tell them to follow, then set off.
"Wait up," grinned Jimmy as he returned Bertha to her Pokeball, Bianca, Pignite and Wotta were already setting off after Cryogonal, causing him to have to play catch up.

It took a good half hour of solid running, and Cryogonal apparently didn't get tired seeing as how it was levitating all the time, so they were all out of breath when they saw daylight ahead. After recovering their breath, Jimmy turned to the waiting Cryogonal.
"Thanks for your help," he said, genuinely smiling, "you've been nothing short of stunningly helpful."
"Yeah, you were awesome," Bianca agreed, "the way you got rid of Beartic was so brave!"
Cyrogonal apparently enjoyed all the comments as it was spinning again. Wotta and Pignite both chattered in their own language, which apparently were compliments, as Cryogonal even rotated like a wheel.
Jimmy watched it and an idea occurred, "say, would you like to join my team?"
Cryogonal paused spinning, almost literally "freezing" as it looked up at Jimmy, as if to say "are you serious?"
Jimmy nodded, "if you want to come, then let's go!" and with that, he threw his last empty Pokeball.
Cryogonal almost seemed to wink as it was pulled inside. And almost as soon as the mis-adventure had started, it had ended, complete with Jimmy getting a new Pokémon!
How cool was that?!

My advice, however, would be to provide a bit more of a description on the locations you write about, like Twist Mountain. Perhaps describing the weather or whereabouts the characters are in Twist Mountain would provide the reader with a clearer picture on the scenery.
